WHAT’S IT LIKE WORKING IN A WISHBONE STORE?
Working in a Wishbone store is busy and rewarding. As we are part retail and part hospitality the role is very diverse.
Responsibilities in store are wide and varied. Customer service is definitely the most important aspect of what we do because the food speaks for itself!
There are sales targets to strive for, continuous merchandising of stock (the food flies off the shelves so we keep them looking their best for the next customer), and compliance checklists to complete (making sure every aspect of the store looks great). Then, when the rush is over we look after stock management and closing up the store so that we can do it all again tomorrow!
The best part is that we play such an important role in making Wishbone so great. Our ideas and feedback are always welcome and often implemented across all stores.

COULD YOU BE THE NEXT WISHBONE RETAIL STAR?
You will need experience and drive to succeed.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Customer service experience in retail or hospitality
- Barista experience and a passion for making perfect coffee.
- Initiative and a positive team attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to work independently
- Excellent work ethic
We take pride in the appearance of our products and stores, so we like our team to reflect this too. We require a customer first approach, this means you will always carry a smile, you will go out of your way to help customers and colleagues, and you will also need to be really reliable.
You’ll need to be available Monday to Friday, and because some of our stores are open on Saturdays/Sundays you may need to work on the weekends too.
You must be eligible to work in NZ to apply for this role.
