Almonds

High in protein and vitamin E. Almonds are a good source of calcium, making them a good dairy free solution to add to your diet!

Cashews

Low in cholesterol and a high source of copper – which maintains blood cells in the body.

Cauliflower:

High in vitamins. Cauliflower rice is a perfect compliment to curries, for diets where rice is not an option, such as the Paleo diet.

Coconut Oil

High in good saturated fats, and a great dairy free alternative to butter that can add flavour to baking.

Dates

A strong source of dietary fibre and also rich in flavour, these are a natural alternative to refined sugar. A perfect natural pick me up!

Linseeds (flaxseeds)

High in omega 3 fatty acids. These small seeds also improve digestive function and reduce bloating after meals.

Pumpkin Seeds

Quinoa

A seed that makes another fantastic substitute for rice and couscous with a soft, light texture.

Sesame Seeds

Adds a subtle salty flavour and a delightful crunch to salads.

Tamari

Made from fermented soybeans. Tamari is a great gluten free soy sauce substitute.

Products: Indonesian rice salad, Salmon & soba salad.

 

Greek Yoghurt

Helpful with digestion and an alternative protein source that can be sweet or savoury.

Salmon

High in Omega 3 fatty acids. A great source of protein and flavour.

Tapioca Starch/Flour

A starch extracted from the cassava root. A mild gluten free alternative to wheat and other grains used as an alternative flour or thickener.

Coconut flour

Another excellent grain free solution, used in the Wishbone kitchen to replace traditional flour.

Avocado

Actually a fruit, Avocado is relatively low in sugar compared to other fruits. Also high in fiber, it helps regulate appetite and feeds friendly bacteria in the gut which reduces the risk of many diseases.

Oats

A good source of fiber, especially beta-glucan, oats are high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Eating oats can lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels while helping you feel fuller for longer.
